Vernon is situated between three beautiful lakes: Okanagan Lake, which is 135 Kilometers long and offers an abundance of camping and water activities from swimming to sailing and boating. Kalamalka Lake (the “lake of many colors”) boasts many sandy beaches to relax on within minutes to town, and pristine waters. Swan Lake offers winter sports including ice-fishing, skating.
Vernon’s other outdoor recreation opportunities include four golf courses, hiking and skiing at Silver Star Mountain Resort and Sovereign Lakes; cross-country, downhill and snowboarding.

Vernon is home to a diverse arts community. With a Performing Arts Centre you can take in a play or musical performance. In our Kal Tire Arena you can enjoy our local BC junior hockey games and many minor hockey tournaments as well.
